The 12th International Conference on Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites in Civil Engineering (CICE 2025) will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 14 to 16 July 2025. It is a national joint initiative organized by the University of Lisbon, the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, and the University of Minho.

Overview

CICE is the main official conference of the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC). It brings together the FRP research community and industry to share relevant achievements and discuss challenges and opportunities in the field. This will be the twelfth edition of a series of prestigious conferences on composites for Civil Engineering applications that was initiated in 2001 and has been already taken place on most continents.

CICE2025 Conference

The conference will be held in the Conference Centre of Técnico, University of Lisbon, in the city centre of Lisbon. You will find a city that is full of history, is safe and friendly, and has excellent climate and gastronomy.

CICE 2025 will cover all aspects of research, development and application of FRP composites in civil engineering, with particular emphasis on some of the most relevant and emerging challenges.

Submissions and Publications

Abstracts & Full Papers

Authors must use to the following template files and platforms for Abstracts & Full Papers submissions (registration fee guarantees up to two full papers per delegate or student):

Proceedings

In the context of CICE205, the publications will take the following forms:

  • eBook of Abstracts available for the conference (Pre-conference).
  • eBook of Proceedings published by Springer (Post-conference).
  • eBook of Proceedings published by the Organizing Committee, as a collection of the authors’ final versions of the papers.

Special Issues

Special issues will be organized with selected papers presented in the conference. The following journals have already accepted to organize such special issues, in which selected papers will be subjected to a normal peer-review process:

  • Journal of Composites for Construction
  • Thin-Walled Structures
  • International Journal of Architectural Heritage

The registration fee includes:

  • Access to all conference sessions
  • Presentation/publication up to two full papers per delegate or student
  • Lunches and coffee-breaks

  • One admission to the conference banquet
  • Publication of full papers in the CICE2025 proceedings
  • 2-year IIFC membership fee

Note: delegates/students unable to attend may request a refund before 30th April 2025. A 100 EUR fee to cover administration costs will be charged. After this date, no refund will be made.
